Donations

The Salty Dawg Sailing Association is a vibrant organization that helps sailors develop blue water sailing skills, and through our Membership and donations we undertake projects to help distant communities our sailors visit.  The SDSA is a qualified* tax exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit; donations are tax deductible. We take on a wide range of projects to help sailors and communities.  Here are just some:

  • Renovating a school in Tortola following Hurricane Irma
  • Repairs to docks and moorings in Dominica following Tropical Storm Erika
  • Donated $10,000 to the Bitter End Employee Relief Fund following Hurricane Irma, for housing repairs
  • Painting a school house in Portsmouth, Dominica
  • Renovating a shelter and children’s center in Mahaut, Dominica
  • Carrying relief supplies to the Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian
  • Conducting the volunteer-run Homeward Bound Flotilla with close to 180 boats, to get boats and crew safely home from the Caribbean during the COVID-19 virus pandemic sweeping the US and Caribbean
  • Hosting over 25 low cost seminars and talks to help sailors further develop blue water sailing fundamentals
  • Hosting over 25 major, low cost sailing rallies since founding, with over 5,000 sailors

We would appreciate your donations to keep these good works going.
